Business Analyst, Retail Operations, Center of Excellence

Title: Business Analyst, Retail Operations, Center of Excellence

Responsible to:  Director, Retail Operations

Job Summary

This is an opportunity to work within the retail energy operation group where to utilize business acumen, functional design, and technology solution expertise to define business processes, analyze and solve business problems and process defects, implement process improvement initiatives / ideas, and establish foundation for KPI’s. 

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Gather /clarify needs and/or pain points from business stakeholders.
  • Prepare gap analysis. 
  • Blueprint and present solutions with an overlay of process improvement (Six Sigma, LEAN . .) 
  • Design strategy and implement selected solutions with End Users.
  • Create /update documentation of business processes and functional specifications as required.
  • Participate in testing of technical solutions. 
  • Participate in the design and delivery of user training and knowledge transfer within the department.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process and/or technology defects, including interface support, debugging, and functional support as needed.
  • Identify where existing procedures and policies may require change, proposing where new ones need to be developed.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and cross-functional teamwork approach in all situations.
  • Data mining and analytics around current customer base to develop/improve KPI’s and retention strategies.
  • Develop and track metrics and success criteria for inclusion on operational dashboard reporting.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum BA/BS in a quantitatively oriented degree - Business, Engineering, Math, Economics, etc.  
  • Work experience (ideally about two years) in the industry preferred but strong recent graduates will be considered. Interning while completing degree may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Experience with applied quantitative methods. Commercial orientation to problem solving. Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of business processes and data management
  • An excellent team player with the ability to work across different groups within the company.
  • Highly professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Personable and outgoing in nature and effective in communication.
  • A high-energy, can-do person who can operate in a fast moving environment with a strong desire to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Expertise in other programming languages including SQL a strong plus.
