Your Average Daily Electricity Usage
This graph shows an average of how much electricity you use per day. Usage is determined by dividing the total amount of kWhs used in a month by the number of days in that month. For example, if you used 635 kWhs in January, then your average usage is 20.5 kWhs per day (635kWhs / 31 days). You can review this chart to monitor how your usage varies during the year.
Meter Code - The identification number on your meter
Period - The dates on which this billing cycle began and concluded
Read Type
ACTUAL: The reading we received directly from your meter
ESTIMATED: An estimate of how many kWhs will be used based on your usage history
Beginning - The amount of kWhs recorded on your meter at the beginning of the billing cycle
Ending - The amount of kWhs recorded on your meter at the close of the billing cycle
Multi - The number of meters recording your usage
Usage - The amount of kWhs used during this billing cycle. This is determined by subtracting the beginning meter recording from the ending meter recording.
Customer Base Charge - A charge assessed during each billing cycle without regard to the customer's demand or energy consumption. A base charge of $5 is applied to any billing period where usage is less than 1000 kWhs.
Energy Charge - A charge based on the electric energy (kWh) consumed. kWh usage multiplied by your plan rate.
PUC Assessment and Gross Receipts Tax (Reimb) A fee imposed on each retail electric providers by the state of Texas. The Assessment fee is equal to one-sixth of one percent of the retailer's charge to you, the customer. The Gross Receipts Tax is imposed on electricity retailers selling in incorporated cities or towns with population greater than 1,000 and ranges from 1.997% to 0.581%. This charge is a tax reimbursement for the PUC fees.
City Sales Tax - Charge imposed by the city on the sale or use of electricity in the city.
TDSP
A Transmission and Distribution Service Provider is the company which transmits and delivers energy directly to you. They are often referred to as the "Poles and Wires" because they maintain the poles and wires which deliver your energy.
Advanced Metering Surcharge
Monthly fee, applied by your TDSP for the new advanced electric meters, or smart meters. This charge is passed on to you without mark-up. If you have more questions about this pass-through fee, or about the Advanced Meter System program, please contact your TDSP:

kWhs: Kilowatt-hour, the standard unit for measuring electricity energy consumption, equal to 1,000 watt-hours
